✦ Synopsis
Serum immunoglobulin levels were determined in 45 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and in 25 control subjects of similar age and race. Total immunoglobulin, IgA and IgM levels were significantly, but not strikingly, elevated in the rheumatoid patients.
Neither sex, age (in the 40-60 span chosen for study), duration of disease, stage of disease nor rheumatoid factor titers was significantly correlated with serum immunoglobulin levels.
