BACKGROUND Epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV) is a rare autosomal recessive genodermatosis characterized by an impairment of cellular immunity. It clinically manifests as widespread, long-lasting, pityriasis versicolor-like macules and flat, wart-like papules, usually occurring in early childhood.
