A solution of S-acetyl dPEG TM 8 NHS ester (Quanta Biodesign, 100 mg, 0.17 mmol) in anhydrous DMSO (1 mL) was treated as described above to afford P8-NTA(SAc) (93.6 mg, 0.13 mmol). 1 H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl 3 ) d ¼ 9.49 (s, 3H, COOH), 7.15 (s, 1H, amide), 3.81-3.55 [m, 37H, SCH 2 CH 2 O, (CH 2 CH 2 O) 7 , OCH 2 CH 2 CONH, CH 2 CH(COOH), N(CH 2 COOH) 2 ], 3.19 (s, 2H, NHCH 2 ), 3.06 (t, 2H, SCH 2 CH 2 O), 2.47 (s, 2H, OCH 2 CH 2 CO), 2.31 (s, 3H, acetyl), 1.82 [s, 1H, CH 2 CH(COOH)], 1.64 [s, 1H, CH 2 CH(COOH)], 1.48 (s, 4H, CONHCH 2 CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 ).
