✦ Synopsis
The decline in recruitment of glass eels, elvers and young yellow eels to the Sksgerrak-Kattcgat area in Sweden was demonstrated by catch data, from trawl hauls a t aea (IKMWT) and from eel ladders in two rivers emptying in the Kattegat. A long term decline since the 1940's was indicated and the same short term decrease as observed in other European countrics during the 1980's was proved.
