## Abstract The OH^−^ ion catalyzed hydrolysis of AOT and sodium mono‐methyl succinate in aqueous and aquo‐dioxane media has been studied. The second‐order rate constant for the former has been found to be nearly ten times slower than that of the latter. At AOT concentrations above CMC, the rate co
