A new biodegradable machining compound for computer hard drive manufacturing, derived in part from green tea, is three to four times more effective than toxic counterparts. Some 161m hard drives leave assembly lines each year and the new compound could give up to four fold increase in efficiency, reduce hard drive manufacture costs, with less corrosion and less environmental risk.
