✦ Synopsis

Two methods were compared for estimating ~ of Gibberella fujikuroi grown with different proportions of glucose and starch. They were, ~l=Ln2(Vr/Le) on Petri dish (Vr= rate of tip extension and Le= mean hyphal length) and, ~2=d(LnX)/dt in stirred fermenter. Values of ~i and ~2 were in close agreement with each other.
