✦ Synopsis

Calculations of the antisymmetric components of 13C shielding tensors have been performed in several compounds using the IGLO (individual gauge for localized orbitals) method. The results indicate chemical situations in which the detection of the antisymmetric components should be easier than in the cases analyzed by Iwai and Saika.

## Abstract By means of the IGLO method the ^31^P NMR chemical shift, δ~iso~, the principal values, σ~__ii__~, and the orientation of the principal axes of the shielding tensor were calculated for a number of dithiadiphosphetanes [RP(S)S]~2~ and of dithioxophosphoranes RPS~2~ with RH, CH~3~ or C~6

The first experimental detection of an antisymmetrical component (u') in the NMR shielding tensor of a nucleus is reported. ## Abstract The geometry of the heteropentalenes formed by two phosphole units has been determined at the DFT level. The magnetic susceptibility and the nuclear magnetic shielding at the nuclei of these systems have also been calculated using gauge‐including atomic orbitals and a large Gaussian bas
