✦ Synopsis

The supersonic jet LlF spectra of the electronic origin band of the 5613 A transition of methyl tctmtine are correctly simulated by using a simple free internal rotor asymmetric top Hamiltonian. The experimental spectra recorded by Haynan and Levy are dominated by ttz = 0,l A111 = 0 rotation-torsion tmnsirions. Using a state population distribution model which incorpontcs a uniform rot,tarionaI and separate torsional temperatures the correct intensities are also obtained_
