✦ Synopsis

Images are presented which show that NMR microscopy can be used to determine the spatial distribution of sugars in grapes. The production of appreciable sugar gradients during the final ripening process was detected in parenchymatous tissues around the seeds, but these gradients disappeared in fully ripened fruit.

The distributions of both the quadrupolar and the isotopic chemical shift interactions are shown to give multiple-quantum MAS spectra that remain tilted after shearing. The interaction of SnBr, and KSCN in methanol solution has been studied by '19Sn NMR at 149 MHz and -30 "C. Evidence was obtained for the existence of both the cis and trans isomeric forms of SnBr4\*2MeOH. A painvise additivity model for chemical s h e was used to explain the observed peaks and many
