โœฆ Synopsis

The mass spectra of aromatic hydroxylamines are diagnostic; [MI, [M -21, [M -161 and, in most instances, [M -171 ions are observed. I N CONTINUATION of our studies on N-oxy and N-hydroxy compounds, a knowledge of the behaviour of aromatic hydroxylamines on electron-impact was required. The mass spectra of N-phenylhydroxylamine (Ia), N-o-tolylhydroxylamine (Ib), N-ptolylhydroxylamine (Ic), N-(p-chloropheny1)hydroxylamine (Id), N-l-naphthylhydroxylamine (II), N-2-fluorenylhydroxylamine (111), (o-hydroxylaminopheny1)methylsulfone (IV) and, for comparison purposes, that of N-cyclohexylhydroxylamine (V) were recorded and examined.
