✦ Synopsis

Novel nitrene precursors of the form PhlNSO:R ( R = l-methylimidazolyl (1), pyridine (2), 2-pyridine Noxide ( 3)) have been prepared that contain heterocyclic sulfonamide residues. These new iodinanes are evaluated as sources of the corresponding heterocycle-containing nitrenes in aziridination and sulfimidation reactions.
