โœฆ Synopsis

for hydrotreatment OF petroleum residua in a trickle bed reactor because of their particular composition and porous texture. A kinetic studv of this reaction has been undertaken in a micro-pilot unit usinq operatinq conditions similar to those encountered in industrial reactors. Sulphur content, distillation characteristics and viscosity of the outlet liauid DrOdUCt were investigated. The effect of the main operating parameters (pressure, temperature and mass flow rates) has been determined.

Oceanic polymetallic nodules could be used as a catalyst and an absorbent

## Abstract Current correlations aimed at estimating the extent of liquid backโ€mixing, via an axial dispersion coefficient, in trickleโ€bed reactors continue to draw doubts on their ability to conveniently represent this important macroscopic parameter.
