โœฆ Synopsis

The new compound NaYFPO 4 has been synthesized by the hydrothermal method (T โ€ซุโ€ฌ 2003C, p โ€ซุโ€ฌ 20 bar, โ€ซุโ€ฌ 300 h). It crystallizes in the monoclinic system (space group C2/m (No. 12)) with the unit cell parameters a โ€ซุโ€ฌ 8.944(2) A > , b โ€ซุโ€ฌ 6.930(1) A > , c โ€ซุโ€ฌ 6.469(1) A > , โ€ซุโ€ฌ 106.11(3)3, Z โ€ซุโ€ฌ 4. Its structure has been determined from single-crystal X-ray di4raction data and re5ned to a conventional R I โ€ซุโ€ฌ 0.0244 (wR 2 โ€ซุโ€ฌ 0.0629) for 358 re6ections, with F o > 4 (F o ). The new 6uoride phosphate NaYFPO 4 has an original structure with its own structure type. The YO 6 F 2 polyhedra form in5nite chains along [010] by sharing two oxygen atoms, which is the unique crystallographic feature of this 6uoride phosphated compound. The chains are further linked by the 6uorine edges of the YO 6 F 2 polyhedra in such a way that, within each chain, the polyhedra alternately have common 6uorine atoms with the neighboring chains to their left and right. 2001 Academic Press

The compound \(\mathrm{Li}_{2} \mathrm{VPO}_{6}\), was separated from a solidified melt in the \(\mathrm{Li} / \mathrm{V} / \mathrm{P} / \mathrm{O}\) system, and the structure was solved from single crystal X-ray diffraction data. The crystal class is orthorhombic with a space group of \(P n a 2_{3}
