✦ Synopsis

The hydrothermal reactim of cul, KI and bidentate amineS [l,lO-phenanthrdiW (phen) or ethylenediamine (en)] gave thethree copper(1) halide compouods, CIbI,(phen), (11, ~( p h e n ) , ( t ) and [ W e n ) , l [ ~z 1 2 ( 3 ) , which were structurally characterized via singlecrystal X-ray diffraction studies. Hydrogen bonds and z-n interactim are the most remarkable stn~ctwal featma of the title mmpounds. An be denected via t h e secondary bonding. Moreover, the title compounds were characterized by elemental analyses, I R spectra and TGA analyses. 'Ihe third-order non-linear optid properties of the title compounds were also investigated and all exhilit nicer noo-linear absorption and self-focuohg perfonnan~e.
