The improvement of an innovative dual membrane contactor process for treatment of combined hygiene and metabolic wastewater was investigated. Flux and solute rejection in the combined direct osmosis/osmotic distillation (DO/OD) process were enhanced by incorporating membrane distillation (MD) concep
