In the title compound, [Cu(C 12 H 13 O 2 ) 2 (C 6 H 6 N 2 O)], a nicotinamide adduct of bis(3-benzylpentane-2,4-dionato)copper(II), the metal ion exhibits a square-pyramidal coordination environment. The molecules of the complex self-assemble in the solid state by way of amide-to-amide hydrogen bonds to form one-dimensional polymers.
