Theories of several different atomistic models of superfluid helium are known to be encompassed by correlated basis function (CBF) formalism. In this paper some of the basic CBF results for liquid 4He are developed in terms of hydrodynamic operators, and cross links are thereby established between atomistic and hydrodynamic descriptions of the system.
