โœฆ Synopsis

O

il sand bitumen and bitumen-derived gas oil contain high levels of nitrogen and sulphur compounds. Thus, products such as heavy gas oil obtained from the processing of bitumen also contain very high levels of nitrogen. Catalytic hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) is the only process used commercially for reducing the level of nitrogen content in those types of feedstocks. Because of high nitrogen, content hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of this heavy gas oil is more diffi cult and less effective with conventional NiMo/Al 2 O 3 catalyst.
