β¦ Synopsis
With a view to developing petro-crops as a source of hydrocarbon fuels, indigeneous laticiferous species belonging to the families Euphorbiaceae, Asclepiadaceae and Convolvulaceae have been evaluated for their biocrude potential. Hydrocracking of biocrudes from E. royleana, E. neriifolia, Cryptostegia grandtj7ora and Calotropis gigantea to hydrocarbon fuels, preferably middle distillates, has been demonstrated.
