Shafer (IBM) presented a correlation of T~ with hole concentration in the La-Sr-Cu-O system and compared the results with those for the 1"2"3 compounds. Samples for the studies were prepared from the nitrate salts and were characterized by a broad spectrum of experimental techniques. Hall measurements in the metallic region showed that the materials were not one-band metals, and since the Hall number was temperature dependent, Shafer concluded that the transport is not simple.
