. where R1, R2 are substances under study were studied on HZSM-5 at 350-4508C. Relative reactivities were estimated, `13 rate of conversion of hydrocarbons correlating with the strength of C H bond. C label distribution in the product of 13 CH -C H -N O feed was studied by GC-MS, 1 H and 13 C NMR. It was shown that methane was capable to alkylate the 4 6 6 2 aromatic ring under reaction condition, giving toluene and xylenes from benzene.
