As part of cur studies on hydrcgenclytic reactions of organotin hydrides(le3) the reaction of crganclead compounds containing a lead--heterc bond with crganotin hydrides was inve,stigsted. From the reaction of the pentacccrdinated tributyllead imidazcle (4) and tripbenyltin hydride in tetrahydrcfuran at rccm temperature triphenyltin imidszcle(') was isolated in high yield. letallic lead rather than a well-defined crganclead compound was formed as well.
