โฆ Synopsis
Freudenberg and NOK are intensifying their joint activities in China with the opening of a new factory for seal production in Changchun.
The 2 million (US$2.5 million) invested in this project is a reaction to Chinese customers' increasing demand for sealing products. In all, Freudenberg and NOK have invested a total of 35m ($43m) in developing their joint business activities in China since 1999. The Changchun site produces PTFE radial shaft seals, valve stem seals, and frame gaskets for engines supplied to major carmakers and large suppliers in China. Today, Freudenberg NOK employs approximately 380 people in Changchun.
Operations have also been extended in Wuxi. This plant produces radial shaft seals and damper seals, bellows and dust boots. A production plant for hydraulic seals is also planned for 2005.
