Shipments of US pumps, including parts, increased 1% to US$4979.9 million in 2001, according to the latest Pumps and Compressors Current Industrial Report from the US Census Bureau. Verical turbine pumps, excluding drivers, rose 8% in 2001 to US$262.9 million. Over the same period, domestic water systems, including drivers, were relatively unchanged at US$474.3 million, while domestic sump pumps, including drivers, were down 11% to US$144.0 million. 2001's oil well and oil field pump shipments increased 36% in value to US$347.5 million. The value of shipments of pump parts made by manufacturers of complete pumps decreased slightly on 2000's level from US$814.0 million to US$811.9 million.
