The structure, quantity and the degree of polycondensation of silicate ion in C3S-pozzolana paste were examined and discussed in relation to the strength and the rate of hydration of C3S and pozzolana. Gel ,permeation chromatography was adopted to prepare the standard pure sample for the calibration
