✦ Synopsis
With the preparations of C3A and C2(A,F ) obtained after the extraction of silicates with salicylic acid from two technical cements the hydration and its products were examined. All methods used -X-ray diffraction to observe the decrease of C3A and C 2 (A,F) during the hydration, thermoanalytical determination of forming sulphate hydrates and determination of combined water based on ignition loss -show the more rapid hydration of C 2 (A,F) than those of C3A.
