Data are based on field trials in 1989 and 1990. All the combinations tested gave a very high relative heterosis on grain yiel
F, hybrids of triazine resistant Brassica napus and triazine susceptible B . oleracea were morphologically intermediate to the parent species . Of 49 hybrids examined, 44 had 28 chromosomes, two had 37, one had 38 and two had 56 . The 38-chromosome plant was thought to be a matromorph, the others, A
Hybrids between B. inermis Leyss (2n=8x=56) and B. riparius Rehm. (2n=10x=70) were easily made. The F1 hybrids had a fertility of 20%-50% under open pollination and backcrossing to B. inermis. Chromosome pairing in B. riparius was predominantly as bivalents (29.04-33.85 per cell for plant means). Bi
