## Abstract Symmetric Mach‐Zehnder (SMZ) type all‐optical switches, namely, the SMZ, polarization‐discriminating SMZ (PD‐SMZ), and delayed interference signal wavelength converter (DISC), are described in detail. All of these all‐optical switches are characterized by push–pull operation and allow u
