Abstract
A hybrid approach to Volterra analysis using both time‐ and frequency‐domain operations for microwave MESFET amplifiers is proposed in order to adapt continuous spectral features in digital wireless communications. The major modification is the equivalent baseband formulations in the time domain for the digital modulation signal, and frequency‐domain treatment of the nonlinear system via a Volterra series expansion. Theoretical and numerical studies indicate a great improvement in computation efficiency as compared with the pure frequency‐domain approach. The method shown has potential applications for both circuit‐ and system‐level simulations in digital wireless communications. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
