✦ Synopsis
Numerous studies have shown that interleukin 1 effect of hILlP on ACTH secretion and synthesis is (ILl), a cytokine secreted by macrophages, is capable probably not due to a direct action of hILl(3 at the AP of stimulating the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal level, but could result from a direct or indirect effect (HPA) axis. Nevertheless, the sites involved in IL1 of ILlP on the release and synthesis of hypothalamic stimulation of the HPA axis remain, to date, subjects CRF. @ 1994 Wiley-Liss, Ine.

It has been demonstrated that interleukin 1 (ILl) injection provokes a great variety of biological effects, notably an activation of the corticotropic axis, increasing plasma adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and corticosterone. However, the primary site of action of IL1 is still controversial. In
## Abstract Corticotropin releasing factor (CRF) appears to be critical for the control of important aspects of the behavioral and physiological response to stressors and drugs of abuse. However, the extent to which the different brain CRF neuronal populations are similarly activated after stress a
