The concept oJ' human-centred technology is outlined and practical examples of human-centred technology in the form of an overview of the recently completed ESPRIT project on . human-centred CIM' are given . The differences between this approach and more technology-centred approaches to the design and implementation of CIM systems are illustrated .

## Good organizational structure design is increasingly important in Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) environments. It can reduce problems due to the changing roles of organizational units and information technologies. This paper presents observations about organizational structures for CI
