โฆ Synopsis
This book contains seven sections: protecting groups (amine protecting groups, cy-carboxyl protecting groups, side chain protecting groups), activation, special procedures, models for the study of racemization, reagents for peptide synthesis, and an appendix. The general format of presentation is that the synthesis of a particular representative intermediate is described in detail while special aspects, precautions, and suggestions are offered in footnotes.
Several methods are available for the synthesis of amino, carboxyl, and side chain protecting groups. The authors have chosen to describe the most important procedures, demonstrating specific aspects of syntheses. Wherever possible, they present information on the reagent being used and, if required, procedures for making the reagent; its commercial availability is noted. More than one method of synthesis is frequently described for popular protecting groups.
