โฆ Synopsis
Lasers from Ho:YAG ceramic were reported in this paper. The Ho:YAG ceramic slab was end-pumped by a Tm:YLF laser whose central wavelength was 1.91 ฮผm. At room temperature, with doping concentrations of 1 at.% Ho:YAG ceramic slab, continuous wave output power of 1.2 W at 2.09 ฮผm was obtained under the absorbed pump power of 5 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 42.6% and a conversion efficiency of 24%.

A diode-pumped single frequency Tm:YAG laser operating at 2 ฮผm is demonstrated in this letter. The laser crystal is controlled at room temperature by using a thermoelectric cooler. Two solid uncoated fused silica etalons are employed to narrow the laser line-width, the thicknesses of which are 0.1 m
In this paper we report on laser diode end-pumped single longitudinal mode and optical bistability Tm,Ho:YLF lasers at room temperature. The maximal output power of single longitudinal mode can reach 106 mW by using only a 250 ฮผm thick solid etalon. The single longitudinal mode laser can be used as
In this letter we report a diode-pumped single frequency Tm:LuAG laser at room temperature. One uncoated fused silica etalon (0.1 mm) and one uncoated YAG etalon (1 mm) are employed to narrow the laser line-width. Single frequency laser is achieved by tuning the angle of the etalons. The oscillating
A room-temperature diode-end-pumped acoustooptical (AO) Q-switched Tm:GdVO4 laser was firstly reported. The minimum AO Q-switch pulse width was measured to be about 48 ns with output power of 2 W and repetition rate of 5 kHz. Continuous-wave output power of 2.8 W at 1912 nm was obtained under the ab
The different upconversion dynamic processes in Tm,Ho:GdVO4 crystal pumped by 100 fs pulse laser and continue-wave diode laser at 800 nm are analyzed. A phononhelped absorption theory is used to explain the different upconversion processes in Tm,Ho:YLF and Tm,Ho:GdVO4. In addition, the lifetime 16 ยต
