The book reflects material presented in its year of publication and also reveals its source as a conference proceedings of an individual character with several eulogies and photographs of conference-related and historical events and individuals. Despite the presence of a number of high quality articles, at its price it is difficult to recommend it except to libraries, institutes or large groups committed to tumour biology. The material is too disparate for most oncologists or hematologists, despite there being individual articles of considerable interest and excellence. It is not aimed at trainees and should not be considered as e.g. a year book of progress in leukemia research.
