โฆ Synopsis
Locking pipe joint and a method of making the same
Applicant: Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd, India This invention provides a locking pipe joint for use in irrigation pipe systems. It is designed to be easy to assembly and yet able to withstand the pipe loads caused by suspending submersible pumps. Splines are provided to sustain the longitudinal forces imposed on the joint, and longitudinal ribs are provided on the outer surface of the jointed pipes to withstand the torsional loads. Both of these are formed during the extrusion of the plastic pipe. The joint is a push fit assembly but the retention and sealing are less obvious from the description.
