Les Marcheurs du Lac sont les seuls capables de tuer les vestiges
malfaisants d’une magie ancienne. Mais ils gardent jalousement leurs
secrets et vivent à l’écart des fermiers qu’ils protègent. Aussi, quand
Dag le patrouilleur s’est porté au secours de Faon la jeune fermière,

Dag comprend de mieux en
mieux ses pouvoirs. Devenu apprenti auprès d’un maître-guérisseur, il
s’interroge à présent sur sa destinée. C’est alors qu’une terrible crise
frappe les partisans de Faon et Dag. Dans un monde qui change, les
anciennes traditions peuvent-elles encore vaincre l’ennemi le plus
mortel qu’on ait jamais connu ?
