β¦ Synopsis
In this paper, we present a model to describe electrical conductivity of DNA with off-diagonal correlations, in which DNA is considered as a one-dimensional disordered system, and electrons are transported via hopping between localized states. We find that offdiagonal correlations lead to delocalization and drastically enhance the electrical conductivity of DNA at low temperatures. The model also quantitatively explains the temperature and electrical field dependence of the conductivity in DNA sequences. In addition, we investigate the effect of concentration of one type of nucleotide pairs on the electronic transport of DNA sequences.
