on the second board when it is time to do so. ' RES is reported to have authorised capital of RM1m and paid-up capital of RM600,000.
Incorporated in 1986 as a Shell/Sime Darby joint venture, the RES charter was to engage in the manufacturing, distribution and support of the Aztec solar hot water thermal systems. In collaboration with Trelleborg GmbH and with Extrutec GmbH, RES developed the Aztec solar heating system alongside solar drying and swimming pool heating systems. The Aztec system is now assembled in Malaysia, at subsidiary company Aztec Engineering. All critical components come from Germany and Europe. The company has a long-standing collaboration with the Wurth Group of Germany and other partners from Scandinavia and France. RES also sits on the Energy Conservation Board with the Ministry of Energy and Telecommunications, often acting as solar advisor. Recently the company has completed a project with foreign partner Naps Systems Oy of Finland to provide Sekolah Rendah Sungai Bumbun primary school in Pulau Carey with solar power. This was financed by a grant of 26,000 by the Embassy of Finland.
