✦ Synopsis

A series of homooxacalix[n]thiophenes (1,, n ---3-7) was prepared from 2,5-thiophenedimethanol in a one-pot way via acid-catalyzed dehydration under mild conditions.

X-Ray crystallographic analysis revealed that homooxacalix[3]thiophene (13) has helical chirality in the solid state.
