โœฆ Synopsis

The progress of holography and optical processing of information in the U.K. is surveyed. Work done shortly after its invention in 1948 is only briefly mentioned;a more detailed account of the work after 1963 is given. The review is divided into three parts: holography of diffused objects ,flow ,visualisation, and optical information processing. About 60 references are included;however no effort was made to present a complete bibliography of papers published on those subjects in Britain.
