In 1997 the first issue of this new journal (A4 size) appeared, dedicated to Quaternary studies by Portuguese researchers or to studies of the Quaternary of Portugal. The journal will publish papers in Portuguese, French, English or Spanish, on all Quaternary subjects. There is no statement on the number of issues per year.
This first issue has 112 pages with eight papers in Portuguese (with extensive English abstracts and bilingual figure captions) and one in English. The subjects cover coastal forms and processes, palaeolithic man, glaciation, faunal quantification and hydro-aeolian processes. The reproduction of figures and pictures is good.
