Abstract
Polymeric Schiff‐bases (3a–g and 5a–c) were synthesized by condensation polymerization of 4,4′‐methylenedibenzaldehyde (1) with diamines 2a–g or diisocyanates 4a–c. In addition, a polymeric hydrazone was synthesized by reaction of the dioxime of 1 with the isocyanate 4a and a crosslinked product was prepared from a trifunctional isocyanate and 1. The products were characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. Their physico‐chemical properties were determined and discussed as function of the number of CH~2~‐groups in the repeating units.
