✦ Synopsis

The present work was undertaken to obtain epidemiological data on the extent and distribution of Histoplasma capsulatum infections in the Chuscha and La Higuera areas.

Skin test surveys of the human population with histoplasmin and paracoccidioidin were carried out in 40% of the permanent population of both localities, between 3 and 88 years old.

It was found that 53.57% of the population were histoplasmin reactors and 1.86% of the population were paracoccidioidin reactors.
