The hindered rohtiond energy Ievels of the ammonium ion in (NH4)zSnCl6 have been computed\_ These energy levels uad CO interpret the Iibrstionat frequencies, tunneliq frequencies, and rotational heat capacity of the ammonium ion

The results from recent measurements of heat capacity, crystal structure and related properties as well as thermodynamic properties of 27 members of the hexahalogenated metal salts to include the alkali, ammoniated and deuterated forms are compared over a wide range of temperature. A detailed compar
## Abstract Raman spectra of oriented single crystals of (NH~4~)~2~SiF~6~ are reported for the temperature range 440β20 K. The trigonal phase stable below 278 K undergoes a transition at 38.6 K. The changes in the spectra show that the symmetry does not remain trigonal, but give evidence for a lowe
