## Abstract We have used a new hybridization assay for the detection of the genome of hepatitis delta virus (HDV) in serum using a strandβspecific RNA probe obtained by transcription of a recombinant riboprobe. This assay was tested on a panel of 30 sera from HBsAg carriers with hepatitis delta ant

β¦ Synopsis
Prodigiosin and pyoverdine pigment produced by Serritia marcescens and Pseudomonas fluorescens have been purified and characterized by UV-vis spectra. The interaction of bioactive pigments with calf thymus DNA (ct-DNA) has been explored by UV-vis and viscosity measurements. The results suggest that these prodiogiosin and pyoverdine can bind to DNA by two different modes. Prodiogiosin intercalate between the base pair like ethidium bromide (EB) and pyoverdine, which bind in the minor groove of DNA, from the experimental evidences.

## Abstract High selectivity of a biomarker is a basic requirement when it is used for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of a disease. The artificial gel antibodies, which we synthesise by a molecular imprinting method, have this property not only for proteins, but also for bioparticles, such as v
