✦ Synopsis

layers were prepared on F-doped SnO, supports by pyrolysis of ethanolic solution of di-iso-propoxy titanium-bis(acetylacetone) in aerosol form. By optimization of preparation conditions, the incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency of water oxidation on these electrodes is typically 75-80X at 1= 300-330nm. Comparison of optical and photoelectrochemical properties of the TiO, layer indicates a relative enhancement of light harvesting efficiency due to lowering of reflection losses in the electrolyte. The flatband potential measured by electrochemical impedance is well comparable with the potential at which the formation of the accumulation layer is detected spectroelectrochemically.
