Pyrrole-or thiophene-bearing pyridine ligands were designed to synthesize ruthenium complexes with pyrrole or thiophene groups as sensitizing dye molecules. Solid state dye sensitized solar cells (sDSCs) were fabricated using the newly designed ruthenium complexes as sensitizers and conducting polym
