โฆ Synopsis
For certain primes l and p, and characters : F* p ว F* l 2 , we construct codes W of length p ฯฉ 1 over F l 2 which are linear over F l , but not over F l 2 , and which are invariant under a monomial action of the group SL(2, p). We consider the cases of cubic and quartic characters in detail and use the W to construct linear codes over F l in these cases.
