Galerkin's method in the Hankel transform domain is used for determining the resonant frequencies of the dominant e¨en and odd modes of broadside-coupled circular microstrip resonators in con¨entional, suspended, and in¨erted configurations. Some of the computed resonant frequencies are compared wit

β¦ Synopsis
⠷ As compared to the Gaussian approach, the point of peak power is higher, and occurs for higher values of h. ⠷ In the ascending flank of the curves, particularly in the range 0.25hrh -0.75 where the sensor sensitivity ref S s Ѩ P rѨ h is higher and linearity errors are smaller, it n is observed that sensitivity values remain practically unaltered irrespective of the approach used.
CONCLUSION
A quasi-Gaussian beam approach has been presented to accurately model the radiation pattern of the light intensity emitted by the transmitting branch of a bifurcated optical fiber bundle displacement sensor. Based on the experimental data of a case study, beam parameters have been evaluated employing a least squares fitting technique. The transfer function characterizing the optical sensor response has been determined using the quasi-Gaussian beam approach, and the results obtained have been compared with those corresponding to a simplistic Gaussian beam modeling.
